Flower Stand-Here We Come!!!

Well if you get the newsletter you may remember that we had hoped to get a flower stand up and running back in May of this year. Obviously that did not happen. Spring came in full force and did not allow the time for the short and sweet project. But now we are almost done and I am so excited about it.
Over the last 3 years we have trialed a variety of things for a flower stand when I realized there was a community need to be met. My heart felt passion is growing flowers. I may even talk about them and think about them 24/7/365. Sometimes my husband has to remind me at bedtime "Honey, we are closed". I just can't help myself but I just knew we needed a flower stand of sorts. We've done "porch petals" in buckets on the porch and put buckets under our market tent on tables in the driveway but I soon realized there was a lot of moving things here and there that could easily be remedied with a free standing flower stand.
So last year I set out to explore my favorite site- Pinterest-which can be a black hole in which there is no return- to find examples and ideas, and get inspiration on what I envisioned for our sweet little stand. And of course you have to find someone to build it for you if you are not a builder and that I am not so I commissioned the help of my husband who almost never says no to anything I dream up. (I'm still waiting for the yes for the pool-he always says no but I'm not done trying that one).
I found several examples of flower stands and other roadside stands that were just adorable but much bigger than what we need for now. So I narrowed them down to something I liked and so it began. My husband studied about it, made a plan, and a few trips to Lowe's for lumber. And today I was tickled pink with the little flower station you see above-of course it is not quite finished. We still have to paint it and cutesy it up a little bit but I think we will have it done in the next couple of weeks. Woo hoo!! I am so excited to be able to mark this off the list.
No only will it house flowers but maybe some wreaths in the winter and who knows what else. I'm looking forward to putting some bouquets together this week and putting her to work. She makes a great addition to Petal Seekers Flower Farm. I feel like the sky is the limit! Now.......I just have to figure out what the call her.....Hmmmm.......
