Do you get as excited about dahlias as I do?
Join us on Thurs Sept 17th from 6-7 pm for our long awaited bloomer-The Dahlia. Gorgeous colors and a plethora of forms, she is truly a majestic work of art. This workshop is all about celebrating the dahlia. Not only will you take home a beautiful array with dahlias and such but you will also learn how we care for dahlias so next year you will be equipped with all you need to know to grow some of your own. We will touch on growning them, when best to plant, how to multiply your crop, tips and tricks with dahlias, and yes top it all off by making your own custom dahlia arrangement. The plan is to be outside depending on the weather. If rain, storms, or extreme heat the workshop will take place in the downstairs grotto or maybe the back porch depending on the number of workshop participants- we want to be outside if all possible but realize weather doesn't always cooperate.
The workshop includes a farm and garden tour, demo explaining the design process, and a peek into our high tunnel and seed starting grotto, flower vessel, all the flowers for your arrangement, and use of our tools. (Vessels will be different that what is pictured-the pics are just showing examples of dahlia arrangements). Light refreshments are also included with the cost of the workshop. In case of rain or storms the event will be held in the downstairs grotto.
No experience necessary. We will have an abundance of different flowers to go with all the gorgeous dahlias- varieties to choose from include possibly zinnias, various greenery, celosia, eucalyptus and other stems to pop in for pure enjoyment (it's whatever we have available growing at the farm at the time of your workshop). Bring a friend or a group of friends. It is sure to be a enjoyable experience. This is an outdoor class. If the class moves inside due to weather it will include some required steps so please be aware of that prior to purchasing your ticket. Please dress comfortably and wear comfortable shoes able to navigate turf.
Before you register please be aware the workshop might be inside in the Downtown Garden Grotto at our farm in case of rain or storms. This will require you to manuever several stairs. Tickets must be purchased in advance. All ticket sales are final, nontransferable, and nonrefundable. However, if you are unable to attend you may gift your ticket to a friend but you must contact us to arrange. Please contact us if you have any questions prior to purchasing your ticket.
